I recently saw a post on LinkedIn: See, I'm not the type of a guy who goes around and criticizes things. I don't think it's a good use of my time. …But some trends just need to be contested. It also brought back some uncomfortable memories. I used to be that guy. I carried Tupperware to work, said no to colleagues inviting me to lunch, and ate at my desk. It worked. I got lean. But I didn't know any of the people I worked with. So I couldn't stop myself and left this comment: It got more impressions than most of my posts. Turns out many people feel the same way. Not because the meal is bland. Because of what it teaches - blind compliance disguised as discipline. Sure, you've got your macros sorted. But it misses the big picture. Relationships, connection, freedom. Not prison. Freedom to do it your way, with your people. The kind you stick with because it's fun. So, the goal is NOT to be like the Tupperware guy. It's to be like Dave - just knowing how to pull it off without giving up his goals. It's slower for sure but there won't be another rebound. Worth it, if you ask me. P.S. If you wanted to remember one thing about me and how I coach, it'd be to NOT become the Tupperware guy. Reaching your health goal is not a challenge you push through. It's building a version of you that you like and respect. If that lands, let's talk: cal.com/bartcagara/discovery-call |
